John 14:6

1/5/11 - Dreams.....

Since I've sensed a recurring theme in my dreams lately, I started to write them down-when possible.  Here's my dream from last night.

I was in some city, and a guy wearing a "sandwich-board" sign that stated-"READ ISAIAH" was walking up and down the street.  This man was dressed like a Hasidic Jew, and said his name was Schmuelly.  I kept asking to speak to him privately, but we kept getting lost finding a spot, and at one point, we couldn't get out of a brownstone apartment because there was no way to get down.

I just have a few questions:  Who is Schmuelly, and why does he want me to read Isaiah? What was I trying so desperately to talk to him about?

I guess I'll find out soon-I started reading Isaiah again this morning.....

Tuesday January 14, 2011

I've been having these dreams lately. They have been going on for the past 2 or 3 weeks.   Although the dreams themselves were different, they all seem to have the same recurring theme-I'm either in a Church that I've never actually visited before, or I'm preaching at a Church I've never been to before.

Lord-are You trying to tell me something?  Here I am, Lord-send me!

Speak, Lord-for Your servant listens!

1st Post of The New Year- January 3, 2011

Well-GOOD MORNING!

I've had a burden placed on my heart to try to post something here every day about what my daily walk with Christ is like.  This includes all the blessings, trials, & tribulations in my life.

I was reading God's Word this morning, when I saw this scripture verse:  Proverbs 11:30.

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who wins souls is wise."

Lord-please use me to win souls for YOUR glory!  Lord, I want to be a mighty soldier in your army.  Please continue to put people in my path that need to hear The Good News.  Lord-order my steps.  Open doors for me, and close them-where necessary.  Lord Jesus-I surrender to You, and I am looking forward to being about Your business this day, and every day.

Father-please cleanse me from all unrighteousness, and purify me that I may reflect The Glory of your Son-Jesus!  If I have sinned-forgive me. I repent of these sins, and ask Your forgiveness. It is in His Name I pray.  AMEN!

Only One New Years Resolution for me!

It's Dec 31st-New Years Eve 2010, and I'm seeing dozens of TV commercials about New Years resolutions.

I've resolved to make only one this year- FOLLOW JESUS, NOTHING ELSE!

Romans 12:1-2

Happy New Year!

Sunday 2/21/10

Going to Church soon.  We have a congregational meeting to discuss the finances and ministries of The Church, and to elect new Deacons and Trustees.  Maybe Chinese food after, and some movies later today.

I'm feeling physically, spiritually, and emotionally exhausted.  There's just so much going on in my life, that I am just TIRED.  I'm not complaining.  God has guided me, and provided for my needs.  It's just exhausting.

Please pray for me as I go through trials at work, and in my various ministries.

Please also pray for my Hospital Ministry.  I am going to drop off my completed applications at Southside and Good Samaritan Hospitals.  This will allow me to obtain "clergy passes" so I can access patient areas. I am really looking forward to entering this new ministry, and I pray that God will use me for His glory!

What is This World Coming To?

I know this is a rhetorical question, but can somebody please answer that question?

Think about these points:

1) People are calling evil good, and good evil.
2) More people are turning away from God than ever.  Lot's of angry atheists out there...
3) Humanism is on the rise.
4) History has been re-written to exclude any references to God-even if it happened!
5) Occultism is on the rise.  Just watch TV, or go to the movies (Twilight). This is accepted as the norm.
6) Terrorism is on the rise.
7) Wars and rumors of wars are on the rise.
8) We are being taxed to death by our own government.  Aren't they supposed to protect us against this?
9) Our leaders only want to push their own agenda forward-no matter what the cost to us.
10) Drug use is on the rise.
11) Drinking is on the rise.
12) Pornography is more prevalent than ever. Just watch a sports event and stay for the commercials!
13) Gas & heating oil is on the rise.
14) Food prices are on the rise.
15) Suicide and depression are on the rise.  Just watch TV commercials between Christmas & New Years...

I am writing this post, because something earlier today set me off.  I saw a news update about some New York City agency that printer a "Guide to Heroin Use".  The title of the article was:  "New York City-Funded Guide Teaches How to Shoot Heroin Safely".  I am not going to include the link-just Google it if you want to read it. Is anyone else out there absolutely STUNNED that this happened?

OK-Now that I depressed everyone, think about this-We have a PROMISE!  A promise of an afterlife, a new life!

Well-thank God that Jesus is in control!  Let me share something with all you brothers & sisters out there-We're all just sojourners.  We're just passing through.  Jesus has already prepared a place for us (John 14:1-4).  It's ready for that moment when Jesus calls us home.  We will close our eyes on this earth, and open them in the presence of our Lord & Savior.  He has a mansion ready for us!  He has an "all you can eat" buffet ready for us, and He will be dining with us!  We will be praising and worshipping Jesus for all eternity!

Is anyone else excited?  I know I am!! Praise His Holy Name!  Hallelujah!

So-while you are out there in the world seeing all of these things going on-remember the precious promised of The Lord!

SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME AN AMEN!!!

Are you in the place you want to be?

Don't answer that until you know what I really mean.

My walk with Jesus has been good, but it can always be better.

I constantly need to remind myself:"What would Jesus Do?".  In adition to that, I need to keep asking myself: "What would Jesus Say?", What Would Jesus Watch?", "What Would Jesus Listen To?", and "What Would Jesus Talk About?"

Being out there in the world, it's VERY easy to get sucked into it.  The Bible teaches us to "be IN the world, but NOT OF it".  Those of you who work out there in the trenches must know what I'm talking about.

So-how do we fight against the enemy?  God's Word clearly states that "to be friends with the world is to be at odds with God" (Paraphrased by me).  We need to turn our eyes towards Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith!  Read your Bible!  Pray!

Remember-The Battle is not ours, but Gods!

AMEN?
